Ben has over twenty-five years experience in designing, planning
and implementing complex security systems for some of the
largest institutions in the New York City metropolitan area.  He
has acted as director of security at several large institutions and
holds advisory positions for several security organizations.  His
many years of practical experience along with his insight into
emerging technology are recognized by many professionals in
the industry. He holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in
Criminal Justice and has taught at several colleges, including
John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Jersey City University,
Interboro Institute and Pratt Institute, where he developed and
conducts a re-certification course for Licensed Architects and
Professional Engineers.  It is one of the few courses sanctioned
by the State of New York in the area of physical security
practices. Ben has spoken before many professional
organizations including the American Society for Industrial
Security, Security Director News, the International Association of
Healthcare Safety and Security and the International Association
of Counterterrorism and Security Professionals. He has published
many articles in security journals and magazines on topics
related to security management, disaster preparedness and
physical security technology.  His unique background and
reputation makes him uniquely qualified to design systems,
prepare specifications and supervise installations for every type
of institution. He brings an unusual understanding of
state-of-the-art technology along with a practical working
knowledge of the challenges relating to getting a system installed
and operational.

Charles Schnabolk, PE, PSP

One of the pioneers in the security industry, 35 years ago
Charlie designed the first and subsequent security systems for
the World Trade Center. He has designed and installed systems
in several major schools systems, famous museums and
numerous health care facilities as well as residential and
commercial centers. He developed the first approved fail-safe
locking system for fire exits, invented the “ArtGuard”
protection system and participated in the development and
design of the most effective infant protection system used in
many hospitals nation wide. His text book: “Physical Security:
Practices and Technology” was the first textbook published on
the complex subject and was used at over 100 colleges and
universities.  His strong engineering education and innovative
approach to over 150 consulting assignments for security
system design has established his reputation as one of the
legends in the industry. Charlie holds a degree in Electrical
Engineering, a Masters Degree in Management and has taught
security courses at Rutgers University, John Jay College of
Criminal Justice and Jersey City University. Charlie has a unique
understanding for the need to create realistic security systems
that meet regulations set by the Department of Homeland
Security, while complying with municipal codes and not
compromising the need for improved security in this age of
terrorist threats. He is one of the few professionals that hold
both a Professional Engineering License and a Master
Electricians Licensee which are essential for filing plans with
municipal agencies.
